Identifying the issues leading to residents’ modifications in Bahraini subsidized housing units

Research problem and purpose: Residents’ modifications in subsidized housing are a widespread phenomenon Bahrain. Households begin to modify their allocated residential units as soon they receive them, resulting financial burdens an aesthetic loss of the uniform physical appearance. This research aims identify issues leading residents’ Bahraini units. Materials methods: Literature indicates that this is closely related resident behaviors. Thus, study presents conceptual framework examines similarities differences behaviors housing. Accordingly, employed qualitative approach was conducted two phases. The first phase investigated common through structured interviews with twelve experts involved modification process. second used case strategy three selected cases from East Hidd project examine different lifestyles. It included on-site observations, plan analysis, householders using AIO approach.
